LT Garett Bolles | 76.6 Garett Bolles ascent to grading out as one of the best tackles in the NFL came as one of the bigger surprises when looking at offensive line play this season. 11. This is a conservative estimate for what was one of the worst offensive lines in the NFL last season but it's one that is now bursting with potential after multiple offseason moves. His spot is an obvious area for Kansas City to upgrade in 2023. Its hard to think that a reduction in holding penalties being called across the NFL didnt play some role in his breakout, but it was an impressive season for the fourth-year man out of Utah nonetheless a season that earned him a fresh, four-year contract extension with the team. Lane Johnson at right tackle did not surrender a sack in 13 games, and 34-year-old Jason Kelce at center just somehow continues to run block like no other. Jedrick Wills Jr. missed several games at left tackle, at times leaving the Browns with backups at both tackle spots against some elite pass-rushers. There was no weak link on the unit, especially in pass protection, and even the players who replaced injured starters acquitted themselves well. RG Trey Smith Nelsons 90.6 PFF grade over the first three seasons of his career ranks first among all guards since 2018, and it is neck and neck with the grade Zack Martin produced over the first three seasons of his career in Dallas (90.8). C J.C. Tretter | 79.4 Stanley allowed 16 total pressures and one sack across 298 pass-blocking snaps during the regular season. The Dolphins' offensive line should be massively improved in 2022, but thats after the unit was one of the NFL's worst in 2021. The former second-round pick took a sizable step back in pass protection from what he was able to showcase as a rookie, seeing his PFF pass-blocking grade fall from 69.0 in 2019 to 51.8 this season. The Texans dont make things easy on their offensive linemen in the passing game with play action, bootlegs or screens, which means that there is a lot of what we call true pass sets for players like Tunsil throughout a season, and no player graded better on that subset of plays than he did. Going from Shaq Mason to a rookie could be a rocky transition for New England. Those were the veterans who were supposed to raise the floor of what was otherwise a bad unit coming into the year, which made the lack of production from those two players hurt all the more. The New York Giants' offensive line was terrible in 2021 so bad that PFF had the Giants 30th in their end-of-season rankings. This line would look a lot better if Taylor Lewan is guaranteed to be the player he was prior to tearing his ACL in 2020. Still, the baseline of play simply isnt high enough in the group. Their final few games saw them slip from the top of the pass-blocking efficiency metrics to 11th by the regular season's end, allowing 144 pressures as a group on the season. The only starting offensive lineman with a run-blocking grade north of 60.0 is Alejandro Villanueva at 60.9, and that shows in their rushing success on the year. RG Nate Davis | 69.1 Denvers offensive line actually had a passable baseline, but when the unit lost, it tended to be ugly. If they continue to succeed in full-time roles, the Colts will finish at a much higher ranking on this list. Those improvements paled in comparison to Rob Havensteins jump from a 50.9 PFF grade in 2019 to 80.0 heading into this years postseason. Even without, The Saints have had a relatively settled line personnel-wise for a while, but they were forced to use 13 different linemen this season, with nine of them playing at least 133 snaps. Tom Brady has been under pressure on just 24% of his dropbacks this season fourth lowest in the NFL despite operating in a Bruce Arians offense that traditionally brought pressure on its quarterbacks due to the emphasis on the downfield passing game. Its safe to say that Joe Burrow did not have the cleanest of pockets to work from in his rookie season before suffering a season-ending injury in one of those collapsing pockets. Its scary to think that the Jaguars fielded one of the worst offensive lines in the league last year and then lost their best lineman to retirement this offseason in center Brandon Linder. This marks the third consecutive full season of disappointing play from Robinson, but the bigger letdown for the Jaguars had to have been what they got out of Taylor in his second season out of Florida. LT Alejandro Villanueva | 65.1 Unlock all tools and content including Player Grades, Fantasy, NFL Draft, Premium Stats, Greenline and DFS. This line operates a lot differently with him in the mix. Zack Martin was again one of the best linemen in the game, and the unit's weakest link center Tyler Biadasz critically improved his performances and was solid overall.
